It's Christmas Time

It's the 12th of December and I FINALLY got our lights all put up and our tree decorated! Yahoo!! It only took my hubby being gone for the week to get me to do it. He's not into Christmas much, so if I want our home to be festive it's up to me to decorate. I went and bought all new ornaments for the tree and found the perfect ones to bring a little "country" to the season, hoping Morgan would like it just a little more....I don't think it worked. Oh well, I will just keep on trying. So....here for all to see and appreciate is our quaint little home all ready for the season....and the snow!!

Here's our tiny little porch all decked out.

Christmas tree with the lights on...you can't tell from the pict, but there are little cowboy boots and country bells and country stars

Cute little cowboy boots on the tree....ahhhh, cute!

Turkey Day

Do you have those family members you only see like once a year? I've noticed I sure do, but when we get together it's so much fun. Makes you wonder why you don't see each other more often. That's what it's like with our family. Odd.

Thanksgiving is always held at my mom's house. I really appreciate all the time and effort she takes to make this day great. When I was living at home, I dreaded those days right before Thanksgiving.....spring cleaning in the fall. Ugh! Now, it just makes me appreciate my mom even more. I love being home for Thanksgiving. I love all the little silly traditions our family has.
Someone always brings Chinese Chicken Salad another brings Pumpkin Roll and of course it wouldn't be Thanksgiving at our house without the traditional Sushi! What....your family doesn't have sushi? I totally thought EVERYONE had sushi at Thanksgiving....interesting. Guess that's what happens when you have a Japanese family. The one tradition I love most is the after-dinner game of Russian Rummy! You don't realize how competitive everyone is until you sit around the table and put cards in front of them. Such wonderful memories!! I'm just glad we don't play Spoons....I can only imagine!
I want to let everyone know how deeply grateful I am for my loving husband. He doesn't know what a strength he is to me. He has made some HUGE changes in his life and he just brushes it all off like it was nothing. I am so proud of him for being him. The light that shines from his eyes now just makes me fall in love with him all over again every time I look at him. I am so glad he chose ME to be his eternal companion. Wow! I also need to thank Denver and Kristi....you guys have no idea how your example and unconditional love have changed our lives. I love you guys so much!!

Wonderful Weekend

I cannot explain what a wonderful and glorious weekend I have had. Friday I was able to go to my best friend's wedding in the Salt Lake Temple (pictures are coming). It was beautiful, to say the least. I am so happy for her and it made me even more excited for when Morgan and I will be able to be sealed together. This morning Morgan and I were able to experience another fantastic event. He was brought into full fellowship once again in the Church. I think one of the High Council members told me I was glowing because I was so happy. Just 1/2 hour ago, we returned from meeting with the Stake President to have him sign Morgan's Temple recommend. It was a wonderful day!! Because Kristi was being skeptical about the recommend, I have included a picture just for her. I hope everyone had just as good of a day as Morgan and I have. Love ya!

Here ya go, Kristi. Now do you believe us? Denver and Kristi....thank you guys for everything! You have helped more than you can imagine. I love you both so much!!

New Look

Like the new background? After doing some research online, I figured out how to make my own backgrounds. After hours of stress, I finally tweaked it enough to work....and so here it is! So, in between playing the Wii Fit and "playing" on the computer, I haven't had much time to post. I have really slacked posting pictures of our new bed, Zions and most of all, pictures from our wonderful yet unsuccessful hunting trip. Here they are!

I don't remember which peak this is in Zions, but I thought it was pretty.

Mom and Dad Dalton being all cutesy on the tram in Zions

Look, I have an actual bed!! Morgan is just so good at putting things together! Thanks, babe!

Ah, fall......I just love the colors. This is from opening weekend of the Elk hunt. I think I had more fun taking pictures.

This is what we woke up to the second day of the hunt. Lovely! Would've been great hunting weather had the clouds not set in along with the snow. Oh well, it was still beautiful!

Peach Days and Corn Nights

So, this past weekend was Peach Days in Brigham. My parents usually recruit us kids to help out in the Scuba Shack. For those of you who don't know, the Box Elder County Search and Rescue Scuba Team sells "Scuba Burgers" during Peach Days to raise money for new equipment and such. My mom is the president of the team, so we all get the luxury of helping. Morgan is new to this wonderful experience, but he's a good sport. Luckily for him (and me) he had to work on Saturday, so we got to skip out on helping this year. We went up to Brigham on Friday night after Morgan got home from work and visited with my parents and grandparents who got recruited to help with the corn. Lucky them!! We got our usual free burgers and corn and of course peach cobbler, then Morgan decided we were going to take a walk so he could see what Peach Days was really about. We walked around the booths until we decided we'd had enough. I think our walk lasted a whole 20 minutes or so. Morgan was done. Unfortunately we missed the car show on Saturday....he would've really liked that. Instead, we got to work on the barn and get all the lights installed and I worked on finishing our bed. My dad told us where they got the corn for Peach Days, and we HAD to have some! We went to the little fruit stand and took all they had....60 ears for $10, not bad in my book!! On Sunday, my lovely mother-in-law shucked all that wonderful corn (I HATE the bugs that you find in corn, therefore, I HATE shucking it!) and we proceeded to blanch it and put it in freezer bags so we can have it later this year. I am new to the canning world and have found out why I've put it off for so long....it's so messy! But it will pay off. Well, that's about it for now....stay tuned for picts of our new bed! I'm so excited!!!

Ah, Yellowstone

It's been almost two weeks since we've been home and I already want to go back. To wake up and be able to breathe the fresh clean air, to hear the wildlife and to SEE the wildlife. I am not sure I have seen so many stars at night. And the gysers...although they smell like my hubby after Taco Bell, they are such an amazing site. The water on some of them is so clear! The blue looks like the ocean down in those exotic places we all dream of. Guess we'll have to wait until next year to enjoy the wonders of Yellowstone.

"Move-In" Day

Wow...what a week it's been! Sunday was our 1-year anniversary. This year has gone by so quickly. So much has happened, some of it I wouldn't like to relive, but others I wish they would never have ended! We went to Yellowstone over the weekend with bro-in-law Kevin, Kylie and Kaleb (the kids). We all had a wonderful time and I wished we didn't have to come home. I have learned the hard way sunscreen is made for a reason. The air is a lot thinner up there which makes for some serious sunburns in a short amount of time! Yeah, so my shoulders and chest make it look like I'm part lobster. But it will be a nice tan in a few days...and then snow white again a couple days later! After dealing with truck issues (Idaho is the land of vehicle problems...right Denver?) we finally made it to the park and back home. I really miss breathing the clean air! Welcome to lovely Salt Lake City! After this HUGE milestone in our relationship, we decided it was time for us to take the next step and "move in" together....cyber style! We have consolidated all of our email accounts (mostly just mine) into one account. Huge step for me....Morgan doesn't really care. After the big move, I thought it would be nice to set up a blog so our out-of-state friends and fam could somewhat keep tabs on us. It's a shame we all live so far away, but it's really nice we can keep in touch this way. Well, I guess this is about it for now. I should probably get back to work. I will post some Yellowstone picts later so you can all be jealous! Love ya all!
