Happy Half-Birthday, Sam!!

I cannot believe that my little guy is already 6 months old! Seriously, where has the time gone. I look at my little sweetheart, still remembering the day I found out we were pregnant, and marvel at the beautiful little boy we have created. It brings tears to my eyes. Sam had his 6 month check up today. Besides the fact that he is a small buckaroo, he's doing fantastic!!

Height/Length: 26"

Weight: 15 lbs 5 oz

See, just a little guy!! But I guess that also means he'll be wearing his 3-6 month clothes for even longer now! hehehe. Here are some of the milestones our little man has achieved in his first 6 months:

• I can roll over from tummy to back

• I can sit, by myself, for about 10 seconds

• I "talk" when I think no one is paying any attention to me

• I have said Dada and Moma and blah blah

• I can stand by myself as long as I am holding on to something (mom's legs, arms, hands)

• I LOVE to eat my squash

And so you can all enjoy how super active he is, I have added a video I took just last night of Sam trying his hardest to become mobile. I swear he is going to just propel himself forward and skip the whole crawling thing altogether!

GoGreen Diaper Giveaway

So, I have decided that I want to try cloth diapers. Yes, I know this is quite an adventure, but it really starts to bother me when I see all the diapers we throw away knowing they are just going to sit in some landfill for "x" amount of years. I bought a couple of cloth diapers a couple weeks ago and I actually really like it....but I need more!! I will probably only do it when I'm home with Sam, but from what I've tried it's not that bad and it helps me feel like I am doing my part to help cut down on our waste. Sam LOVES his daddy!!! The first video is their "peek-a-boo" playing, the next one is what Sam loves to do when daddy lets him play with his facial hair and the last one is his first experience with "real" food! He absolutely loved the squash! Enjoy....

4 month update

I still can't get over that our little guy is already 4 months old. It just seems like yesterday we brought him home! But he's getting to be so much fun and I love every single minute I have with him. It seems all I have to do is talk to him and he just laughs (apparently I really am THAT funny) but poor daddy has to work and work to just get a tiny giggle. Sam just had his 4 month shots and he is now a "whopping" 13.6 lbs and 25" long! Tiny little guy!! He is in the 54th percentile for his height and the 21st for his weight! I promise, I feed this guy all the time....he just has the metabolism of his dad, lucky kid! We had our family pictures taken last month and yes, it has taken me THIS long to post some of them....sorry, been a little busy being mom. Enjoy!!

Battle Wounds

Our poor little guy had to get his 2 month shots yesterday. I felt HORRIBLE for him. I gave him a bath and fed him before we left so he'd be all relaxed at the doc's office. Sure enough, he fell asleep on the way there and was even still asleep while we were waiting for the doc. We went back into the room and I had to strip him to get his weight and height. The little chunker is now 11 lbs 12 oz and 23 1/2" long! So, in 10 weeks, he's gained 5 lbs and grown just about 4 inches! Wow! Needless to say, he's a great eater. Anyway...so he was super good and talking and smiling and all that....and then the nurse came back in with his shots. He was all excited to take his oral one and then the nurse took his leg and all I remember was this horrible screaming cry, oh, and Sam crying too ;-) He hated it, and I felt so bad for him. He finally calmed down and fell asleep again in the car. When we got home and he woke up, he was actually in a good mood for a little while. I decided it was the perfect opportunity for a photo shoot of his poor sore legs. All in all, he's toughed it out....thank goodness for Children's Tylenol!

FINALLY!!!

I truly am so sorry that it's taken me so long to update our blog with pictures of the babe! But here he is.....

Samuel John Dalton was born June 2, 2010 at 3:42 pm and weighed 6 lbs 9 oz and was 19 3/4" long!

29 weeks and the baby's room!!

29 weeks and hopefully only 9 more!!! Morgan thinks he's talked the doc into delivery early...hopefully our little man will cooperate. Fingers crossed!


My wonderful hubby has decorated the baby's room all by himself! I think he might be just a teensy bit excited. Morgan talks about taking the baby on the horse with him just days after he's born.....um, maybe not, but I don't think I am going to keep him from doing it for very long. Morgan is really excited to have his little "partner" join him on all of his adventures. Apparently the baby is going elk hunting this year. Um, yeah....good luck, babe!


The horseshoe over the door to wish our little man good luck!! And yes, it was cleaned off before it was hung up! And do you like the barbwire? I was skeptical at first, but once again Morgan was right and it looks fantastic!


Yeah, I know we're missing the mattress for the crib and the little bear looks like he's in jail, but that's because Lucy thinks that's her toy! I LOVE the rocking chair Morgan bought me for Christmas right before we lost our first. I am very much looking forward to using it, and I really like the added addition of Morgan's old baby blanket. The room looks great and he has done such a wonderful job! Now the only job left is to convince the babe he wants to be a little cowboy like his daddy.

Week 25....well almost

Thought it was about time to show the belly again! Our little man is growing fast and we're getting so excited to have him here!!

The shirt was a little loose so we had to pull it back in order to see the belly!

So, the belly button has YET to pop out, so I have this "indent"....I think it looks funny and embarrassing...but Morgan thinks it's hilarious!!
